Meet the team:
The System Test Strategy & Execution team is responsible for assuring autonomy performance using in-vehicle, simulation, resimulation (simulation using vehicle sensor logs), and bench testing as well as triage of fleet and test based software issues. Our team enables requirements verification and validation by designing and implementing tests across all test modalities and providing feedback and issue identification to the autonomy software teams.
What you’ll do:
Conduct hands-on testing with autonomous vehicles based out of our facilities in Dearborn, MI
Work in Release Candidate and Development Testing areas
Interface with our colleagues within Ford’s ADAS division to develop and execute test plans of next generation driver assistance systems
Test autonomy developers pull requests on vehicles on closed course test tracks and public roads
Leverage system requirements to develop Release Candidate tests and Structured Tests as needed for Development Testing
Support Vehicle Behavior requirements and simulation functional set development
Work with automated ADAS test equipment to execute choreographed scenarios
Analyze test results, and create detailed written reports, provide feedback to developers to improve software
Conduct integration testing to ensure the seamless interoperability of software, hardware, and sensor systems within the automated driving stack
What you'll need to succeed:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience (or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or PhD)
Ability to work onsite in Dearborn, MI
A strong understanding of the autonomous vehicle software stack
Solid problem solving skills
Competency understanding performance requirements for autonomous systems
Ability to write test documentation for test cases and engineering processes
Nice to have:
Experience working with ADAS automation testing products
Proficiency in writing Python
Experience using dashboarding software such as Looker or Superset
