Engineering Student
in our Geointelligence department at our Richmond office. This is an
8-month
term starting in
September 2024 .Overall the successful candidate would be treated similar to a new graduate joining our company, where tasks will be assigned relative to the level of schooling and experience achieved to date. You will be part of a project team responsible for the development and delivery of an airborne hyperspectral system. You will participate in the full development life cycle using a diverse mix of technologies, to build near real-time processing software hosted in a high-performance prototype hardware platform.Responsibilities:Creating software and system engineering solutions that are technically competitive, cost-effective and have a direct impact on our customersDesigning, coding, testing, debugging and documenting high-quality software components in C++ and PythonWorking with the team to complete the integration, testing and deployment of software components into a full systemAssisting in troubleshooting problems at both the software and the system levelFollowing established development processes and corporate technical and quality standardsPlanning work, providing effort estimates, driving your work to completion - on time & on budgetExperience and skills required:Working towards a University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 2 - 3 years completedSoftware development tools and practices:Object-oriented design, data structures & algorithms, and software design patternsUnit, component, and integration testingVersion control (e.g. Git)Knowledge of C++ design and development is highly desirableKnowledge of Python is desirableStrong algorithm development and math background is a bonusExcellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work on a diverse and dynamic teamStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsComments/Special Considerations:Successful candidates must obtain and hold
