Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.The WorkThe selected Software (SW) Engineer (Automated SW Tester) will be responsible for developing and implementing scripts that drive the automated testing efforts for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapons Systems (GWS) Ground Support Systems (GSS) product team.Essential Functions:Support advanced portions of the lifecycle of software development to include requirements definition, integration, and deployment.Develop scripts for automated testing.Perform post-test / log analysis and support the development of the associated documentation.Conduct analysis and resolution of off-nominal results.Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results with limited oversight and direction.Apply 'systems thinking' to ensure developed products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end-user needs.Communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives.The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.Who We AreLockheed Martin is a global aerospace, defense, and security company dedicated to advancing scientific discovery and harnessing innovation to make the world a safer place. As a part of our team, you will work alongside like-minded individuals dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible.Why Join UsYour Health, Your Wealth, Your LifeOur flexible schedules, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits enable you to live a healthy, fulfilling life at and outside of work.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience.Python programming and script development experience.Experience utilizing Linux.Current and/or prior Test automation experience and a willingness to complete Test Automation tasks full-time.Some exposure to the following development languages: C, C++, Java.Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment full time.Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. DoD issued Secret security clearance which is required to start.Desired Skills:Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering.Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer personnel.Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions based on limited direction and definition.Automated Test Tool experience (i.e., Eggplant).Proficiency utilizing Eggplant.Knowledge of various scripting languages and tools: MATLAB, etc.Familiarity with Agile software development practices.Security+ Certification.Security Clearance Statement:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.Schedule for this Position:
