Job Responsibilities:
Manage databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, and provide problem resolution end-to-end. Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics and allocate database of medium to high complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility of the data.
Utilize data administration on V11.5 and 11.1 for Linux, Unix, and Windows, DB2, HADR, and CDC.
Apply database patches and upgrades, such as EMC Networker, db2top, CA7 scheduler and shell scripting, and routine DBA activities.
Skills and Experience Required:
Required
5 years of progressively responsible experience in the role as a Senior Database Administrator, Associate Operations Manager, or a related position.
5 years of experience with: DB2; Database administration on V11.1 for Linux, Unix and Windows, HADR, and CDC.
Experience with db2top, CA7 scheduler and shell scripting.
Must have two years of experience with: Database administration on V11.5 for Linux, Unix, and Windows, HADR, CDC and EMC Networker.
Education:
Must have bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer and Information Systems, Engineering (any) or a related field.
