Data Platform Engineer

to join our high-performing product and fulfillment center of excellence. You will contribute to implementing new product features and rapidly on-boarding new enterprise customers. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with strong technical skills and meticulous attention to detail. This person will be intellectually curious with a relentless desire to learn the latest modern data architecture platforms and patterns.WHAT YOU’LL DO:Rapidly learn the latest modern data architecture platforms and patterns working closely with solution architects and team leads.Manage daily operations of the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP), including installation, configuration, and support for both cloud and on-premises clusters.Maintain and update existing CDP setups, perform platform upgrades, and follow Cloudera’s best practices.Analyze and optimize complex production deployments and configure security settings using tools like Ranger and Kerberos.Create technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles, and participate in an on-call rotation for support.Analyze complex datasets to identify trends and anomalies, troubleshoot data issues, and participate in product roadmap and POC evaluations.Contribute to constant innovation by identifying and implementing new solutions and tools to improve infrastructure and application automation, availability, and security.Work with product and development teams on releases and production readiness.Identify/Implement approaches to automate and improve development and release processes.Develop testing and health check monitors with automated resolutions.Participate in project and scrum planning prioritization.Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support.Manage/Implement periodic reporting KPI’s on platform performance, availability, and efficiency.Participate in product release cycles by performing/automating regression testing and quality checks.WHO YOU ARE:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field.Working knowledge of Cloudera Platform (Public or Private Cloud).Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP or Microsoft Azure.Foundational knowledge in Linux, Containerization, and Kubernetes.Fundamental understanding of basic networking concepts including DNS, Routing, Firewalls, and Load-Balancing.Proven experience and/or coursework with Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD).Must have a passion for learning and strong desire to understand enterprise architecture and infrastructure design fundamentals.Working knowledge of security concepts including access control, directory services, and authentication/integration (OAuth, SAML, and OpenID).Experience with database systems, such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, etc.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and self-learning initiative.Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.WHY NEXUS COGNITIVE:
