6+ month contract (contract will continue to extend or convert to FTE)Other Requirements:If not local, must be willing to relocate within 2-3 weeks maximum - relocation assistance will not be providedMust be willing and able to work 100% onsiteMust be very strong in DOCSIS, Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and troubleshooting / debugging CPEStrong candidates will come from a Telecom or telecom manufacturer background.JOB OVERVIEWTroubleshoots and resolves escalated Access and CPE device field issues.Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps.Establishes security, connectivity and access parameters.Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure.Tests and tunes security devices and systems.Programs routers and switches. Implements communications technologies (data or voice).Manages network services from planning phase through implementation.QUALIFICATIONSSolid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure is required.Experience working with DOCSIS, ONU, CMTS, DAC, EC, Troubleshooting, Debugging and CPE (Customer Premise Equipment)Additional Skillsets being sought:Advanced knowledge of the DOCSIS and EPON standardsWorking knowledge of CMTS platforms including:Casa C100GArris E6000Cisco cBR8RPHYHarmonic vCMTS and RPDsVecima RPDsWorking knowledge of EPON platforms including:ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3Working knowledge of switch platforms including:Cisco NCS/ASRJuniper PTX/QFX/ACXWorking knowledge of routing protocols including:OSPFISISBGPv4/v6 MulticastAbility to write technical documentationAbility to write and follow detailed technical test plansCPE and ONU background in trouble shooting is highly desirableCreative Network Trouble Shooting Skills.
