Job Description
Title: Manufacturing Sanitizer I, II, and IIILocation / Department: Manufacturing DepartmentReports To:
Sanitization/Manufacturing SupervisorFLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Basic Job Functions:Responsible to clean and sanitize manufacturing tanks and auxiliary equipment to prevent product contamination during the manufacturing process following Standard Operating Procedures in compliance with cGMP's and safety regulations. To receive training and gain familiarity in the operation and composition of manufacturing equipment in order to qualify for advancement.
Essential Functions of the Job:Sanitizer level and compensation will be determined by successful completion and verification of levels in the Sanitizer Skill Level Chart.Perform Accupac’s “Super-clean/Super-sanitization” procedure on equipment as PM schedule requires.Dismantle and properly reassemble piping, valves, pumps, mills, tri-blenders, removing “O” rings from pumps.Clean and sanitize machinery inside and outside including piping, valves, pumps, mills and tri-blenders by applying hot water, Purified-water and alcohol with rags and brushes using pressure on the machinery to remove accumulated product and impurities.Inspect all disassembled parts, for wear and replace/order spare parts for inventory, as necessary.Clean up work area removing and storing cleaning utensils and solvents and disposing of soiled/used cleaners.Perform Preventive maintenance on equipment they have been trained on and properly document in all Log Books upon completion of tasks.Perform all jobs in a safe and efficient manner.Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements of the Job:Knowledge of written and spoken English sufficient for internal communication.Ability to follow instructions.Ability to understand Standard Operating Procedures, cGMP's and communicate their requirements to others.Ability to judge when equipment has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.Working knowledge of tools, hardware and basic machinery operation with ability to perceive different size and shape parts, and fit them together, correctly.Ability to work around solvents and chemicals needed for sanitization tasks.Ability to work with hot water (+/- 180 degrees F) safely.
Physical Requirements:Strength sufficient to lift up to 60 lbs.The ability to push a 55 gallon drum full of bulk product up to six feet.The ability to stand on concrete floors for full shift period.The ability to hear speech and/or alarms through plant noise.Peripheral vision.Eyesight with or without corrective lenses to discern differences in small type characters for coder set ups.The ability to recognize colors and shades of color.The physical mobility to reach overhead and bend at and below waist level.Manual dexterity to unfasten and fasten large and small parts using hand tools.The ability to work with chemicals and solvents used for sanitizations. Must not be allergic to chemicals and solvents used for sanitizations.The ability to work overtime as needed.
