Proactively lead advanced technical engineering calculations and develop project estimates for midstream oil and gas projects. Project types include, but are not limited to: natural gas gathering, compression, dehydration, treating, NGL recovery, fractionation, storage, measurement, and utility systems for such projects. Will report to Engineering Manager or Director of Engineering.Responsibilities:Work with Sr. Project Manager and Project Managers to develop options that can be presented to the Client with economic analyses based upon estimated costs.Develop project schedules and project cost estimates.Fulfill the role of Project Engineer and Staff Engineer on a project.Manage a team of Staff Engineers to accomplish the calculations necessary to complete a project and verify the Staff Engineers’ work.Verify that all required codes are followed within the design of the system.Document all engineering calculations for the project appropriately.Responsible for the final design and engineering package.Stamp IFC drawings following peer PE review.Communicate project data to Clients/Engineers/Vendors on an ongoing basis.Stay abreast of industry trends and new technology that may benefit Kahuna.Contribute significantly to Process Hazard Analyses.Understand the Pros/Cons of different Construction Contracts (T&M, Lump Sum, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, etc.).Demonstrate the basic understanding of all disciplines of Engineering and Project Execution (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Instrumentation, Construction, Procurement, etc.).Perform lead and mentoring/coaching role in facility startup activities.Ensure that all disciplines (I&E, Civil & Structural, Construction, and Operations) are organized and working together.Other duties as assigned.Required experience:Bachelors or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.5-7 years experience in oil and gas preferred.Taken and passed Professional Engineering Exam (Required).Strong work ethic and willingness/ability to travel to field/project locations.Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as attention to key prioritized detail.Self-motivated and able to quickly react to changing priorities and deadlines.Self-manage workload AND direct appropriate work to Staff Engineers.Advanced technical writing skills and client/team communication skills.How to apply:
