Overview
The DevOps Engineer is part of a team building the next generation of Wealth Management systems, with a focus on system stability, performance, and monitoring. This position requires hands-on experience as well as the ability to improvise and be successful in a fast-paced start-up environment.Manage and tune the production environments for a scalable and highly available distributed systems in AWSConfigure and manage firewalls, security groups and other network security oriented effortsIdentify key system metrics and ensure adequate monitoring coverage for new and existing servicesManage deployments, upgrades, configurations in a controlled, pre-production and production environment with tight operating perimetersEngage in the application development cycles to assess the DevOps requirements and implement the required deliverables around deployment and system configurationWork on complex, major or highly visible tasks in support of multiple projects that require multiple areas of expertiseIdentify errors and deficiencies as well as develop long and short-term solutionsKeep up-to-date with security patches and proactively address security vulnerabilities and complianceParticipate in application operation activities and assist with application troubleshootingOn call and after-hours work will be required for deployments and support
Required Skills & Experience
Windows System Administration and hands-on experience with typical system administration such as active directory, DNS, etc. 4+ yearsAWS in console and CLI 4+ years experienceFortigate, Meraki, Palo Alto or other firewalls 3+ years experienceSecurity components, like vulnerability scanning, AV, etc. 4+ years experienceCI/CD tools, like Jenkins, Gitlab or CircleCI 4+ years experienceInfrastructure as Code and Config Management as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Salt, Chef, etc. 4+ years experienceContainer orchestration platforms, like Kubernetes, AWS Fargate or ECSSQL Server and Postgres Operating, tuning, and troubleshooting in ProductionBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar IT degree or equivalent experience demonstrating DevOps and IT experienceDemonstrated ability to multitask, context switch, and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentStrong written and verbal communications, teamwork and problem-solving skillsA demonstrated respect for production environments with a strong understanding of establishing procedures and principles to keep production running 24x7Ability to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions when standard tools don’t work
