by Newsweek.Factory Obscura seeks a creative, enthusiastic, and capable candidate to join our team as Digital Communications Specialist. This position serves as the principal contributor of Factory Obscura’s social media and web media content, presentations and promotional campaigns, and written materials. The main function of this position is to develop/create and execute effective digital communication and marketing programs through the creation of digital content. This position requires the use and evaluation of analytics to determine the effectiveness of social media communications. The Digital Communications Specialist collaborates with a team to develop digital content and media strategies, marketing campaigns, themes, and goals, while working independently to execute those plans. Must be organized, deadline-driven, and able to focus on the details while seeing the big picture.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate, design, write, and edit digital content for all of Factory Obscura’s entities across Factory Obscura’s social media platforms, including but not limited to: the MIX-TAPE experience, the BONUS TRACK store, events, and temporary experiences.Curate, share, schedule, and publish digital content on social media platforms.Write and edit digital content and storytelling including but not limited to newsletters, blog posts and social captions.Interact with customers and other stakeholders via digital platforms, including responding to messages, comments, questions, etc.Identify, share, and comment (as Factory Obscura) on digital content that aligns with Factory Obscura’s brand and/or mission, highlighting our neighborhood, city, artistic partners, etc.Collaborate to develop a Factory Obscura communication plan and social media policy.Produce monthly social media reports to summarize the usage and efficacy of social content, monitor growth, record engagement rates, and analyze other metrics. Identify issues when they arise and present solutions for discussion.Design graphic elements, icons, and infographics for social media use.Photography and videography for Factory Obscura events and social media and special projects as needed.Edit photographs and videos for social media use.Update and maintain digital assets through a digital asset management system.Collaborate to develop and implement marketing campaigns and strategies across a variety of platforms and tools, including: social media and other digital platforms, website, email newsletters, press releases, and other tools for communication.Manage social media marketing tools to create and maintain the company’s brand.Collaborate with team members in content creation, marketing campaigns, and social media strategy for Factory Obscura brands, including MIX-TAPE and BONUS TRACK.Coordinate content creation for all digital platforms (this includes MIX-TAPE & BONUS TRACK accounts), focused on marketing goals for the company, including but not limited to: brand and experience awareness, ticket sales, product/merchandise sales, news, events, and community engagement.Promote company events online by creating event pages, submitting to media, email campaigns, etc.Research trends and best practices in marketing, social technologies, new media, and relevant industries (i.e. immersive arts, themed entertainment, live performance, etc.).Ensure that the Factory Obscura brand and identity is adhered to in campaigns, across communication channels, website, etc.Some evenings and weekends will be required, related to events.Key Competencies and SkillsCommunication Skills: Excellent writing and speaking skills. You should be a strong planner and highly detail oriented.Analytical Skills: Acquire data and analyze the success of campaigns. Natural and proactive problem solving. Research, statistics, analysis methods and techniques, planning programs and processes.Critical thinking, creative problem solving, and open to learning and growing.Creativity: Craft engaging content that aligns with Factory Obscura brand and engages followers. Ability to recognize good design and maintain consistent aesthetics.Collaboration: Establish, manage, and maintain cooperative relationships with coworkers, across departments, and with various partners and stakeholders.Technology: Operating a personal computer, standard software and some specialized software including digital and video editing.Sense of Humor: Keeps a positive attitude and works well within a diverse team. Brings a personality and humor to brand voice across communication channels.Qualifications3+ years experience in using social media for marketing purposes and social media account/brand management.Proven track record of successfully maintaining brand social media accounts.Proven track record of successfully maintaining brand website, email, and online presence.Have a basic understanding of who Factory Obscura is and the company’s brand and voice.Must be 21 years of age or older.Bonus Skills (not required, but any of these would be nice to have)Natural creativity, with experience in content and digital production (copywriting, photography, video, graphic design, etc.).Understanding of social media growth strategies and content trends.Experience producing press releases and media kits, and distributing to local and regional media.Experience leading a marketing and/or communications team.Experience in web design and maintenance (SquareSpace).Experience in email marketing (MailChimp).Experience in media outreach and/or public relations.SquareSpace (website).Google Analytics.Meta Business Suite.SEO/SEM.Slack (team communication).Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional artistic environment.
