The Sr. Network Engineer’s primary role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the data and video systems and infrastructure that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing data and video solutions across the organization. In addition, the Sr. Network Engineer will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all voice, data, software, and communication links. Finally, this individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

The Sr. Network Engineer leads and/or participates in design, build, implementation and test functions for complex enterprise infrastructure projects to support network, telecommunications, security (network related) and infrastructure appliance technologies.

The group’s responsibilities are varied and include working on the following technologies: Palo Alto firewalls, SDWAN from Aruba, Network Access Control - Aruba Clearpass, Arista, Cisco routers and switches (including Nexus), Infoblox DNS, Wireless Aruba/Cisco, Zscaler connectivity, Cloud connectivity to Azure/AWS/OCI, and Akamai DDOS. This includes research, build, implementation, testing and test plans, documenting standards, creating support documentation, following documented processes, and training of other resources within data services.

Provide Tier III and IV technical support and in-depth problem analysis capabilities.

Includes on-call and off-hours support and interaction with key vendors and suppliers. Frequently involved with application implementation/support.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

5 years of experience in a network administration role.

2+ years of Wireless LAN equipment and technologies including controllers, access points, wireless survey tools, etc.

5 years of experience with 3 or more of the following areas:

Local Area Networking equipment, cabling, and protocols including routers, switches, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.

Wide Area Networking equipment, mediums, and protocols including edge routers, firewalls, MPLS, and Ethernet.

Network Security including Firewalls, Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention, and Network Access Control technology.

IP converged networks.

3 years of experience with 2 or more of the following areas:

Service Management tools.

Network troubleshooting tools including Sniffers, Analyzers.

Network configuration tools.

Automation Tools such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.

Be on call and respond to emergency situations:

Will be part of a Network On-Call Rotation.

Will be primary responder when scheduled.

Will be secondary responder when scheduled.

Potentially engaged during large outage events or if SME knowledge is required.

Work weekends and holidays when needed.
