ContractAmerica Networks is a leading sensor and networking solutions partner for companies in any Industrial, Manufacturing, and Waste management space. We design and manufacture sensors for storage tanks, water metering, energy metering, gas monitoring, and asset management.Our founders are hardcore telecommunications engineers with combined 200+ years of experience in designing, optimizing, and performance engineering for several mid-large wireless carriers internationally. We have combined these sensors with low power, wide area (LPWA) networking technologies to provide clients various options to decrease re-occurring costs associated with operating an IoT network of sensors and connected devices.We specialize in design, deployment, optimization, and support of these Networks. Whether an off-the-shelf or custom solution is needed, we’ll create a solution and push the data on the best cloud platform to fit your needs, including your own.As a Systems Engineer/Administrator, you will provide support for complex systems running RedHat Linux and Solaris. The position requires 5+ years of progressive, technical, job-related experience. Expertise in RedHat Satellite 6 / Puppet, Veritas Clustering on Solaris, RedHat Linux Clustering, Microsoft Windows, Tru64, or VMware would be beneficial.The Systems Engineer/Administrator must be able to function with limited direction and guidance and be able to diagnose a wide variety of problems. You must possess excellent customer relation and communication skills, accurately assess problems, and communicate the problem information to peers, support groups, and HW/OS vendors. You should be able to work in a team environment, demonstrate leadership skills, and follow established business processes and procedures.Tasks and Responsibilities:Day-to-day system administrationProblem (break/fix) remediationSecurity managementChange auditing, file cleanup, performance monitoring, patch installation, and security-related remediation using Linux scriptingTop 3 requirements:In-depth operating system knowledgeProblem remediationSecurity management (Research, analysis, and planning from an OS perspective)Required Skills:Red Hat Linux and SolarisScriptingSecurity management as it pertains to RedHat Linux and Solaris operating systemsDesired Skills:Knowledge of additional operating systems such as Tru64 Unix, MS Windows, VMwareRedHat Linux Clustering and/or Veritas Clustering for SolarisRed Hat Linux Satellite 6 / Puppet
