Qualified candidates will join a robust technology team that supports all DMO events, mission networks, site connection activities, cybersecurity, and other related functions.This role is NOT eligible for remote or hybrid work and is executed on-site.What you will do
Designs and plans network systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. Duties Include:Serves as a member of the Network Engineering team supporting the MAF DMO program.Configures and maintains Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and management systems.Works with team members and other teams to assemble MAF DMO Site Kits and configure them to be deployed to new sites.Supports install and integration of new site kits as well as technology refreshes as needed.Works with security team to ensure secure configuration governed by DISA STIGs is implemented across all network devices.Documents network architecture and changes to configurations.Assists in managing SolarWinds and other network management tools to give the Network Team and the CAF DMO Helpdesk a high level of visibility regarding network operations.Must be able to travel, including internationally.What you must have
9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.Experience working in a primarily Cisco environment.Experience troubleshooting network issues at all layers of the OSI model.Experience working with TACLANE encryption devices.Ability to multitask and prioritize and address issues as they arise.Ability to work in a small team, but also able to work individually with minimal oversight.Must have current Cisco or another network-related certification.DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification.Must be a US citizen, currently hold and able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance.Preferred Requirements
Maintains current Cisco or other network-related certification.Experience working with TACLANE encryption devices.Previous experience managing a USAF distributed training network.Experience in Combat Air Force (CAF) operations and training.Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
