GENERAL SUMMARYThe DPS Detective's main function is to respond to all calls and assignments as directed to document all issues that occur in or on Pechanga Resort Casino (PRC). The Detective’s secondary role is to support the floor Officers to complete Casino operations and functions. Detectives will interact with the public and Team Members in a professional manner.
FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENTAll Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by PRC.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDocument and respond to all incidents on property.Partner with outside Law Enforcement Agencies on related criminal issues.Write reports that achieve maximum impact.Enforce gaming regulations in accordance with the internal control policy.Prepare concise and meaningful reports.Partner with other departments for investigation information and support.Assist with lost and found items to be released if needed.Assist guests by phone and in person to address lost and found questions.Assist in counterfeit bill training for property.Enforce all policies and regulations throughout PRC.Other duties as assigned.ACCOUNTABILITY : This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. The Team Member is responsible for protecting the assets of PRC.
QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING : A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and at least 5-7 years’ relative experience in Military, Public Safety or Law Enforcement is required to successfully perform this job.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or Team Members of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Must qualify to obtain and maintain a class “A” gaming license, CA Guard Card, PC 832, CA Weapon Permit, CA Baton permit, CA Pepper Spray permit, Title 31, Responsible Beverage, Responsible Gaming.
SKILLS/ABILITIES : Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs. Demonstrates strong grammar and punctuation usage skills. Ability to type 45 wpm. Must be detail-oriented. Must be able to speak clearly on a radio. Must be capable of interacting with the general public in a highly professional manner. Ability to work with some degree of independence and to execute duties firmly, tactfully, and impartially. Ability to understand and execute difficult oral and written directions. Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive reports. Be able to react quickly and calmly in emergencies. Be able to develop and sustain positive working relationships with other Team Members, other law enforcement officers, and the general public. Be able to utilize investigator techniques and equipment. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Must have own duty gear. Must be able to work with a positive attitude in a fast-paced and culturally diverse casino environment. Must be able to take direction and follow through with assigned tasks. Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
