Senior Network Engineer

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the network infrastructure and related systems, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance across the organization. This role involves troubleshooting complex network issues, leading network projects, and acting as a subject matter expert for in-house technologies. The Network Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and management of the network, with a focus on SD-WAN, cloud networking, and automation technologies. Additionally, this position requires technical leadership and participation in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support when needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Diagnose and resolve complex network and system issues across all layers of the network topology.
Assist in troubleshooting network-related performance and connectivity issues for users.
Lead and manage network engineering projects involving the upgrade, replacement, or enhancement of network infrastructure.
Lead efforts in the design and implementation of SD-WAN technologies, ensuring scalable, reliable, and secure network connections between corporate, regional offices, and remote locations.
Implement and manage AWS Cloud Networking solutions, utilizing Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to drive cloud-based network infrastructure.
Automate network tasks and processes using Ansible, streamlining deployment and configuration management.
Utilize Python scripting and ServiceNow integration to automate and enhance workflows for network monitoring, incident management, and reporting.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for in-house network technologies and solutions.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with teams across Technology Operations, Server Group, Desktop Support, Information Security, and Audit.
Proactively identify and recommend new projects, improvements, and innovative solutions based on monitoring data, prior experience, and hardware expertise.
Travel to corporate, regional offices, and data centers as required.
Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 support for network issues and critical incidents.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field preferred, or equivalent experience; advanced-level networking certification is a plus.
Certifications in Palo Alto, Cisco, Arista, or other networking certifications are highly desirable.
Hands-on experience with TCP/IP packet analysis using tools like Wireshark.
Expertise with Next Generation Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, SonicWall).
Proficient in configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting routers, including experience with dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
Experience with SD-WAN technologies and solutions for improving network performance, scalability, and security.
Skilled in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, and switches (e.g., Cisco, Arista).
Experience with AWS Cloud Networking, leveraging Terraform for infrastructure automation and Bitbucket for code management.
Experience with Enterprise Network Management and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Ansible).
Automation expertise in configuring and managing networks using Ansible, with experience in Python scripting to optimize and streamline tasks.
ServiceNow experience for automating incident management, network performance monitoring, and change management workflows.
