Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Traffic Engineer, we'll count on you to:Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on traffic design and analysis projects ranging from traffic signal design, pedestrian facility / accessibility design, pavement marking and signing, operational analysis, traffic signal system retiming, and traffic safety studies.Work closely with Project Managers and Traffic EITs to prepare PS&E plans including traffic signal design, sidewalk and curb ramp design, pavement marking and signing, traffic signals, illumination, sidewalk, and traffic control plans for various state and local agencies.Work with Project Manager and Traffic EITs for development of traffic studies including traffic impact analyses, traffic signal timing plans, microscopic simulation modeling, and macroscopic simulation modeling.Oversee the work of CAD Designers and EITs.Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed.Perform other duties as needed.Applicant should have prior experience in these areas and should be able to work in a team environment.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.Experience with traffic engineering/ analysis and design.Professional Engineer (PE) license.Hands-on experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, Microstation and/or AutoCad.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Transportation/Traffic engineering discipline preferred.Experience in traffic design including preparation of PS&E plans.Working knowledge of ADA requirements; PROWAG is a plus.Minimum 4+ years of traffic design and analysis experience.Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for, it's also about what you do and how you do it.
