Product Application Engineer

who enjoys working as a member of a team to develop customer relationships and drive Trystar specifications. The Product Application Engineer for Power Distribution will be a member of the product management team and act as the technical subject matter expert for assigned product lines including generator docking stations, distribution panels, power lines, and other distribution and portable power products. You will drive business growth by understanding customer needs, assessing opportunities for product development, customization, and modification, providing technical solutions, and effectively articulating the value of our products. Your role will be pivotal in effectively communicating technical information to customers and working with sales, customer experience, and manufacturing to deliver on Trystar’s commitments and helping to develop and maintain relationships and build trust. – We create an environment where our team feels appreciated and has fun along the way.In this role you will get to:Provide product application expertise to help achieve the organization’s goals and commitments.Maintain expert level of product knowledge, application and problems customers are trying to solve.Articulate technology and differentiators to both business and technical users.Perform technical and product training for salespeople, reps, and engineers at targeted accounts.Be a video presenter and become a subject matter expert, including developing modules for scalable training.Assist in development of technical documentation to support assigned product lines.Provide application and technical support, assisting the CX team in solving customer issues.Communicate with sales to understand customer needs and offer sales support where necessary.Work with the customers and design engineers to ensure equipment meets system requirements.Assist with product selection and respond to RFIs/RFPs.Plan for modifications and customizations to products to meet customer needs.Maintain professional business relationships and establish customer rapport and acceptance.Provide status to management of ongoing projects and future projects.Coordinate your efforts with the engineering design and manufacturing teams as required to ensure customer satisfaction – quality assurance, tracking and expediting orders as necessary.Leverage product and market knowledge and customer feedback to provide input to product strategy and suggestions for product improvement. Prioritize the ongoing new product development list based on actual customer opportunities.Develop and distribute any sales tools such as pricing tools, white papers, power point presentations, sales literature, information for the website, etc.Ensure that best practices are followed in our CRM such that accurate reports can be generated.Perform other responsibilities as assigned in a fast-paced, growing organization.Job Requirements:Basic QualificationsBA/BS in Engineering or Technical Field.5 years of experience within academic, military, or corporate business environment.2 years of experience in power generation industry or electrical sector.Proficient and power user of MS Office (especially in MS Word and Excel).Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.Travel Requirement: Up to 10%.Additional QualificationsMaster’s Degree or MBA.Customer Service or Sales Support experience.Strong ability to effectively learn technical products, services and solutions and readily apply new knowledge is required.Knowledgeable in AutoCAD.Strong ability to listen, extrapolate information and leverage resources to provide solutions.Must be organized and be able to multi-task.Strong ability to quickly establish rapport and develop win/win solutions.Willingness to show problem ownership/employ corrective action.Solid understanding of the power generation industry.Strong ability to read electrical schematics and understand electrical systems.
