Job Summary

The Director of Application Engineering and Integration is responsible for working across the organization to identify and qualify new business opportunities, leading the pursuit of emerging technologies. This role will oversee all aspects of management of technology software within the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Consults business and technology leaders in prioritizing investments in emerging technologies, developing internal communications, and seeking guidance, advice, and support for business investments.

Leads proof of concepts to ensure use of emerging technologies, demonstrates the impact on business strategy, and highlights the innovation outcomes through rapid execution of projects demonstrating feasibility of achieving key business strategic goals.

Maintains accountability for all stages of the product lifecycle. Monitors emerging technologies in the market and performs ongoing and continuous assessment of new emerging technologies for potential fit with business needs.

Prioritizes initiatives through the use of an emerging technology investment roadmap that has buy-in from both business and technology leadership.

Presents to leadership and other senior business unit leaders on the value and risk of technology opportunities.

Collaborates and leverages cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities to build, test, and iterate with emerging technology and capabilities that accelerate innovation and drive differentiation in the market.

Gathers insights, ideating, prototyping potential solutions, testing solutions with members, and creating detailed design specifications to communicate ideas to development.

Sets the vision for the product user experience and provides guidance through implementation.

Leads member research, such as usability studies and member interviews.

Leads cross-functional teams throughout product development life-cycle.

Required Qualifications

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Minimum of 10 years’ related professional experience.

Minimum of 5 years’ management experience.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)

A representation of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.

Demonstrated passion for creating member-centric designs for digital experiences.

Ability to oversee the delivery and execution of projects and initiatives of various sizes.

Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and presentation skills.

Ability to provide guidance toward fast-paced, incrementally delivered, quality software.

Ability to apply broad expertise or unique knowledge and professional concepts to develop resolutions to critical issues.

Knowledge of current emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, extended reality, climate risk analytics, advanced analytics, no-code/low-code, low-power networks, password-less authentication, and cloud-native computing.

Knowledge of the systems integration ecosystem and the ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, PR, and software development.

Ability to facilitate constructive debate and effectively negotiate, persuade, and reach consensus.

Demonstrated ability to be flexible within a framework.

Ability to collaborate with — or seek expertise from — external sources of emerging technology expertise such as tech partners, academia, startups, and more.

Work Environment

Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of this job’s functions.

Remote work environment with the utilization of on-line technology, including various computer programs and systems.
