Full TimePosition Description:CGI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for our Data Platform and Analytics engineering (DPaAS) team in the Finance Technology group. The Senior Data Engineer will provide functional expertise and guidance for key data projects within DPaAS, bringing industry-standard methodologies to define better development.Your future duties and responsibilities:Partner with client internal and vendor external teams in functional design and technical design, guiding the development of the Data Analytics platform.Gather and assess requirements and assist with translation into optimal analytical solutions.Facilitate client requirements and conversations through prototyping to gather requirements on KPIs and other reporting requirements.Translate and convert business requirements into Data Analytics functional design documents.Create source to target data lineage mapping documents for mapping and validating data elements.Provide direction and guidance with mapping and validating data elements.Walkthrough the functional design documents with the technical team and business team to seek sign-off.Review and provide feedback on technical design documents to ensure alignment with functional design documents.Develop ad-hoc and user-specific reports and queries to support the business team.Provide functional support during the testing phase to ensure defects are valid.Support data reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and completeness.Perform extensive data analysis and data mining, summarizing results in a comprehensive manner.Required qualifications to be successful in this role:At least 8+ years of diverse technology experience with a minimum of 6 years in DWBI application design, development, and implementation.5+ years with skills in designing dimensional models, relational databases, and data warehouses (AWS Redshift & Oracle experience preferred).Experience in documenting key deliverables such as requirement gathering, FIT/GAP analysis, and functional design for reports.Strong experience in customization and implementation of Data Warehouses using ETL and BI Reporting tools.Strong understanding of BI architecture including physical data models, ETL, and logical business models.Detail-oriented with strong experience in performing data analysis.Strong data management principles around architecture, modeling/design, data quality, and security.Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.Skills:
