What This Position Is All About:Saks Off 5th LLC, New York, NY seeks Senior Systems Engineers - Developing and building a model in GoCD in automating the continuous delivery of software to include working with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Delivery) using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Code Pipelines, GOCD, Travis CI and Chef in order to support automating the entire build-test-release process code check-in to deployment. Responsible for resolving technical issues on build and deployment failures utilizing tools that include GoCd, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and Concourse within different environments. Utilizing extensive knowledge and experience with various technologies that include AWS, Container Orchestration Tools including NGINX, Docker, Microservices, Terraform, Concourse, JoyentTriton, GoCd, Puppet, and Consul and will develop and manage complex e-commerce-based systems and applications to include using Salesforce Service Cloud (SFSC) and Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC). Migrating our current infrastructure stack to AWS and creating an ideal system setup per organizational requirements. Use of infrastructure as code to automate the provisioning and configuring management of infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible in setting up a continuous systems integration process utilizing “Infrastructure as code” methods for SAKS OFF 5TH’s e-commerce website, including coding all AWS resources using Terraform. Configuring web servers, such as Apache, to facilitate request forwarding and rewriting. Working with cross-functional technical teams on various projects consisting of participating in strategic planning and development and create and maintain a repository of code artifacts in GitHub and SVN for version control as well as include working on repository management tools including GitHub, SVN, Bitbucket, GitLab, Jfrog Artifactory and Npm. Writing scripts using programming language including Node.JS, JavaScript, Python, Groovy scripting, Bash, Ruby and Perl for automation tasks and building applications. Managing CDN (content delivery network) providers including Akamai, Cloudflare, Amazon CloudFront and NginX to ensure that our company's website visitors experience optimal performance. Driving software systems and application test planning, coordinating with business users for user acceptance testing and technical issue remediation. Developing and setting up an alert system for applications to improve response time, reduce system downtime, and enhance network and server health. Configuring Newrelic to monitor performance and report CPU, MEM, RPM, GC, and other activities within an application as well as maintaining dashboards that provide real-time insights into production system health using Nagios, Pager Duty, AWS CloudWatch and Data-dog. Bearing accountability for continuous improvement and optimization of monitoring to ensure 100% uptime for all platforms. Conducting feasibility studies and analysis through Proof of Concepts (POC) wherever necessary to provide the best architecture and then design infrastructure that best fits the project. Providing and implementing an operational solution followed by knowledge transfer to the respective project teams in the absence of an engineering solution. Debugging and troubleshooting issues while working with Quality Assurance and the development team to provide bug fixes to the problems/issues in the existing system to include triaging and troubleshooting production incidents logged using ITSM (IT Service Management) tool including Cherwell and JSM. Interacting with and advising end-users/stakeholders to determine the overall system requirements and to automate and align business processes with application functionality by compiling requirements, conducting design analyses, and communicating results to the stakeholders. Working with the functional testing team to ensure that the interfaces are delivered in accordance with technical requirements and timelines provided in a project plan. Working in production with defect tracking system and configuring various workflows, customization on Confluence for documenting the progress of Projects and Sprints using Jira and Confluence and WIKI docs, ensuring adherence to the company’s technical production/development change control policies and identifying opportunities for process improvement and overall efficiency.Requires Master’s (or educ. equiv.)
