Are you a backend engineer with a fondness for production? An SRE who also likes to design and code? Observable is seeking a full-time infrastructure engineer to help design, build, and manage Observable’s cloud systems as we accelerate and grow. Our team is fully remote and we strive to foster a culture that is collaborative and data-driven while being fast-paced.
What You Will Do
Design and implement new infrastructure and processes to support Observable’s growing cloud services and features.Perform site reliability and infrastructure maintenance work for existing Observable production and staging environments. (Manage servers! Tweak WAF rules! Optimize SQL queries! And more!)Participate in the dev team’s on-call rotation, monitoring Observable systems and responding to production issues.Some of the technology we use

8+ years of related experience working with production systems, cloud providers, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), security best practices, etc.Excitement! We are a startup recently embarked on a new product direction (see the announcement for Observable 2.0). We’re building cool things and we want your help :)Ability to design, implement, and operate the infrastructure that powers the Observable platform with autonomy.An enthusiasm for data, visualization, and technology.$150,000 - $200,000 a yearEstimated base salary dependent on experience.Join our team! Observable’s end-to-end solution includes our open-source Framework that developers use to build performant, expressive data apps; a platform for hosting projects; and tools to manage the data workflow.
