University Information Technology has an opening for a NetDevOps Engineer within its Common Infrastructure Services department. This position will support equipment automation, information collection and reporting, and workflow solutions, as well as participate in the design, deployment, continued development, integration, maintenance, and validation for network automation and related systems.Responsibilities:Performs tasks associated with the engineering of network systems used in data communications services, including fiber optic, twisted pair, IP systems, switches, routers and LAN / WAN Systems.Collaborates with other team members and groups to identify and develop scalable network designs, solutions and policy recommendations.Ensures continued smooth operations of the global network infrastructure.Supports internal application groups by identifying and presenting their network-impacting requirements to the rest of the network engineering team.Supports and leads implementation of growing network infrastructure.Prepares various documents such as work orders, purchase orders, records equipment, facilities and systems, and budget paperwork.Work Environment and Level of Frequency typically required:Often: Office environment.Seldom: Outdoor EnvironmentPhysical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required:Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, crawling.Seldom: Reaching overhead, lifting- up to 50 pounds.Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.Preferences:Experience with Automating Operations/System AdministrationStrong understanding of Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows operating systemsExperience with using REST APIsHands-on experience with VLAN trunking, STP troubleshooting, and enterprise level routingStrong understanding of network protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, ARP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, etc.)Strong understanding and experience integrating large enterprise systems using scripting languages (JavaScript, PowerShell, and Python) and standard protocolsExperience developing and implementing scripted automation solutions to optimize operational tasksExperience in using configuration management tools like Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, HashiCorp TerraformProven ability to participate with other functional teams in systems integration and design with attention to detailExcellent communications skillsExperience with specific platforms: ServiceNow, InfoBlox, Solarwinds, Cisco APIC, Cisco DNA Center, and Cisco IOS and Nexus platformsDevelop automated and scripted solutions that integrate with Enterprise SystemsOperationally maintain the Orchestration systems in multiple environmentsTroubleshoot automation issues through entire stackType:
