You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.Position DescriptionOur Senior Engineer is a key member of the Mobility Engineering Operations staff working across the organization to provide a friction-less experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between.Position ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Engineer, you will:Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systemsfor data ingestionBuild product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solutionEngage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycleLead in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organizationDefine, create, and support reusable application components/patterns from a business and technology perspectiveUtilize programming languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, Objective C, C#, Dart, Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and servicesDebug application code and troubleshoot interface softwareMentor other engineersConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsAssume ownership of existing business processes and servicesDrive enhancement and continuously improve the quality of servicers and end user experienceEngage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycleWork with senior engineers to define the technical architecture and support the implementation of new hardware standards/services from technical perspectiveSupport projects migrating from existing platforms to new platformsBuild product definition and use your technical skills to drive towards the right solutionAnalysis and Estimation skillsDrive proof of concepts to test new technologies with hardware and software, working closely with cyber, network, and telecommunication teamsAssure 24x7 operations and stability of services with high regard for end user experienceSupport the creation of the enterprise level roadmap in terms of supporting multiple vendors for future business demandsScope, design, and build scalable, resilient systemsProvide knowledge share, mentoring, and systems training to junior team members as neededConsistently share best practices, and improve processes within and across teamsContribute to significant business initiatives, attend scrum meetings, and give presentationsSolve difficult problems, learn new technologies, and push the boundaries of what is possibleQualificationsAdvanced programming experience with at least two modern languages such as Java, C++, Python or C# including object-oriented designProven understanding of microservices oriented architecture and extensible REST APIsExperience architecting and designing new and current systemsAdvanced understanding of DevOps concepts including Azure DevOps framework and toolsAdvanced PowerShell scripting skillsAdvanced understanding of security protocols and products: Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuthAdvanced understanding of security protocols and productsExperience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as codeIn-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithmsKnowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)Experience following workflows and writing application interfaces using JavaScriptExperience developing and maintaining front-end architectures that support user interfacesExperience with application design, implementation, maintenance, diagnosis, and correcting issuesExperience with AI implementationExperience managing security vulnerabilities, and maintaining compliance with industry security standards under minimal directionExperience in enterprise-scale Event driver architecture and enterprise grade queue managementStrong analytical and problem-solving abilityAbility to excel in a fast-paced environmentExperience4+ years of professional software development experience using React and/or Flutter concepts to implement responsive components of the user interface3+ years of experience with architecture and design3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service2+ years of experience in open-source frameworksEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science

, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experienceAnnual Salary$90,000.00 - $185,000.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.At this time, GEICO will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
