The candidate functions as a technical specialist using systems engineering and MBSE methods for solving advanced conceptual to detailed system and software designs for simulators. An expectation is to lead through example and mentoring in the MBSE tools and methods as they apply to System Life Cycle (SLC) efforts. This position helps to define and coordinate digital engineering (partly through MBSE) internally and externally to engineering providing a unified modeling paradigm for the business.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProposal solution developmentSystem engineering design to the Line Replaceable unit levelClearly represent customer requirements in system designs, breakdown structure, BOMs, etc.MBSE modeler responsible for creating and leading model development on programsPart of the MBSE team working and calibration with othersUse automated data validation/consistency scriptsEnable data connectivity between MBSE database and external toolsAssist incorporate MBSE into the CAE USA EnterpriseDevelop and present review packages to customersProvide technical support of all SLC phases and types of work performed by the department.Provide support throughout the business development Lead through delivery including contract award.Define “how” the training system, using MBSE concepts, can be structured to best comply with the Customer Requirements, including the extent of re-use of existing components and equipment.Analyze the system to ensure that it will meet the stated performance requirements (e.g. flight performance, stability, weight, power, timing, human factors, throughput, etc.).Stay current in industry advances. Research new simulation methods and system architectures.Qualifications and Education RequirementsBS in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer or Aerospace EngineeringMust possess at least 5 years’ experience in system engineering and MBSE conceptsAbility to perform requirements analysis and translate customer high-level requirements or inputs into system and derived requirements, create systems solutions, and conceptual designsExperience applying systems engineering on medium, large, complex programs, requirements analysis/management, interface management, system architecture development/design, integration/verification/validation planning and executionDue to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.Professional SkillsTechnical Knowledge - Keeps current with professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsClear Thinker – Abilities to communicate distinctly, present conciselyEngineering Excellence – Execution of work with quality with timelinessContinuous Improvement – Always looking for improvement opportunitiesExhibits Courage – Fearlessly takes reasonable risksValues of – Energy, Energize, Edge, Execute, and Passion (4Es and a P)Technical Lifecycle - Development, Design, Procurement, Implementation, Testing, Acceptance, and Customer Signoff at a systems and subsystem level for both Hardware and SoftwareTool / SkillsSecurity ClearanceExperience with one of the following: Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect, or CapellaUnderstands SysML 1.6, understanding of SysML a bonusDesign and Development experience through modifications or white paper designData structures and definitionNetworking, PC architecture, Network Protocols (OSI, TCP, UDP, etc.), Interoperation, distributed SWExperience validating modelsKnowledge or working knowledge of SCADAContext diagrams with input and output definitions for both hardware and softwareKnowledge with industry system and software standards e.g. MIL, IEEE or IECDesired CertificationsDesired Object Management Group (OMG) Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification, preferably to the Model Builder-Intermediate or Model Builder-Advanced levelsINCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification Works on both new business/proposal phase and after contract award (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP)Security ResponsibilitiesMust comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.
