Our proprietary platform processes more than $4B a year in transactions.We have a history of long-term trusted relationships and innovation that drives tangible value to our customers through a customizable, scalable, and secure platform, a global third party marketplace, and loyalty integration.We aspire to put our customers at the heart of every decision and exceed their expectations with best-in-class solutions and business-value innovations.What you’ll doThe Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin) reports to the Engineering Manager (Mobile) and works closely with cross-functional teams, both internal and client-facing, including other software engineers, architects, quality assurance, and product managers to ensure seamless, high-quality product and platform delivery.In this role, you will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain world-class applications written in Kotlin. You will also optimize these applications for speed, reliability, and scalability.Your ImpactDesign, develop, deploy, and maintain high-performance, robust, and scalable APIs using KotlinCollaborate with cross-functional teams, both internal and external, to define, design, and bring innovative features to lifeEngage in architectural discussions and actively contribute to the technical decision-making processConduct performance optimization to improve system responsiveness and throughputIdentify and resolve issues and performance bottlenecks with existing API and integration architecturesCreate and maintain technical documentation for API usage and system integrationsUphold and propagate best practices in server-side Kotlin-based application design, and collaborate with architects and engineers to continuously improve upon these best practicesEnsure API security protocols are in place to protect data and systemsMentor other developers to foster a culture of innovation, quality, and growthContinuously research, evaluate, test, and implement new technologies to optimize application performance and development efficiencyCollaborate with external stakeholders to design efficient integrationsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of Kotlin and general mobile trends, technologies, and best practicesWhat you bring to the table7+ years of software development experience with substantial professional server-side Kotlin/Java development experienceProven track record of delivering high-quality, secure, and performant Kotlin-based applications to production environmentsExpertise in working with and designing APIs, either RESTful or GraphQLExperience implementing the BFF PatternProficiency in working with and designing solutions using multiple database systemsProficiency in working with various version control systems, particularly Git, as currently utilized by iSeatzExperience working in Agile and Kanban environmentsExperience working with external clients, partners, and vendorsDisciplined ability to consider multiple options when designing a solutionCollaborative spirit and a positive demeanor that enhance team dynamicsBonus pointsExperience in travel and/or loyalty-as-a-service industriesExperience working with asynchronous event-driven architectureExperience leading teams and/or projects, either in an official or unofficial capacityPrevious role as a full-stack developer and ability to assist in front-end development efforts; proficient in React, as currently utilized by iSeatzExperience designing and architecting comprehensive applications, from inception through deployment to production, ensuring seamless usability for end-usersLocationThis role is remote and can be located anywhere inside the continental United States. iSeatz is a New Orleans-based company with Central Time Zone business hours, but feel free to work from your home office, from the beach, or from the cottage you rented for the summer!What we bring to the tableiSeatz is among the most prominent tech employers in New Orleans.
