We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to support our customer’s operations in Dahlgren, Virginia.
This effort provides our Government customer with software support services.
This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop/verify software specifications and requirements and develop support system software capabilities, features, and enhancements
Plan, and perform software design, coding, and testing
Work in an adaptive Agile environment and design, build, and maintain software
Communicate risks, ideas, issues, and status to program PM
Essential Requirements:
US Citizenship
Active Secret Clearance
Required Experience:
Minimum fifteen (15) years since award of Bachelor’s degree, or Minimum twelve (12) years since award of Master’s degree, or Minimum eight (8) years since award of PhD degree
Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing detailed and complex software design and development meeting sub millisecond timing requirements
Minimum of ten (10) years of program/project level experience software design and development experience for DOD sensor or weapon systems with a minimum of 200,000 Source Lines of Code (SLOC)
Education and Certifications:
A Bachelor’s degree from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in one of the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Software Engineering
OR A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand, and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to workstation. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception, and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and the public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
