Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Sector is seeking an experienced leader to fill the Manager Digital Engineering 2 position in the Networked Information Solutions & Payload Ground Systems (NIS & PGS) organization based in Baltimore MD, or Morrisville, NC.
This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain or maintain Special Program Access (SAP).
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Digital Technology Manager role involves balancing both the overall functional oversight and management of a team of 10-15 digital engineers as well as performance of productive work on a program or several programs. Responsibilities include staffing and workload forecast; employee inclusion, goal-setting, mentoring and career development; employee training; recruiting and retention. The direct program work may include digital engineering technical work, conducting design reviews, IPT leadership, consulting, proposal support, or any other appropriate technical function.
The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. He/she will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate must provide performance feedback to his/her direct reports regularly. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
This candidate will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. He/she will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish the team goals. The candidate will work closely with the directors and managers of other engineering disciplines, program directors and program managers. The ideal candidate will also be able to champion change within the organization, to achieve competitive advantage for the business.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience or a PhD with 3 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields.
Must be a US Citizen
A current/active DoD secret clearance is required and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.
Must have experience in management of employees or management of a project.
Demonstrated proficiency in mentoring and the ability to build highly engaged teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present knowledge to a wide variety of audiences of different backgrounds effectively.
Experience with designing and/or leading/managing digital design projects.
Experience in all aspects of the digital design process, from requirements analysis through verification testing.
Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields.
Experience leading teams in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
Experience leading/managing digital hardware, FPGA, ASIC, SoC, and/or digital subsystem design projects.
Knowledge of current digital technologies (digital hardware, FPGA, ASIC, SoC, verification, and/or subsystem).

Salary Range:
$145,000 - $217,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
