To leverage expertise as a Change Leader and Lean Expert to spearhead the implementation of SMS lean manufacturing principles within the Production Unit (PU). Dedicated to driving efficiency, optimizing processes, and ensuring seamless integration of lean practices, while concurrently overseeing and executing the PU’s comprehensive business transformation agenda.Key Activities and Responsibilities
As a Change Leader and Lean Expert, you will provide leadership, guidance, and training to facilitate identified process improvements within the Production Unit (PU). Your responsibilities will include advanced data gathering and analysis, problem-solving, and project management. You will monitor the progress of planned improvements to ensure timely action, appropriate management support, and the achievement of expected benefits. Through your expertise, you will drive the successful implementation of lean manufacturing principles and contribute to the PU’s overall business transformation.Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Oversee the PU’s business, considering organization-wide impacts of team-level changes.Coordinate cross-departmental information flow to support process improvement.Actively participate in the Global Transformation and Change team and adapt improvements from other Sandvik PUs.Collaborate on strategic roadmaps to set operational strategy and policy.Assist departmental managers in supporting and participating in improvement activities, ensuring smooth transition to sustained implementation.Develop business presentations and reports on activities, progress, and capital investment information.Support the implementation of the SMS Production System to foster a Lean Six Sigma culture and identify opportunities to minimize waste and optimize resources.Create and use evaluation tools to analyze production efficiencies and document improvement activities.Maintain knowledge of safety policies to ensure safe performance of duties and coordinate with management to uphold quality and HSE standards.Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards and site certifications.Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.Apply lean tools and principles (e.g., Toyota Production System, SMED, Kanban, TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping) to support continuous improvements.Compute, compare, and interpret relationships between variables, and analyze static and dynamic ratios and distribution graphs.Understand and solve practical problems with limited standardization, and read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and manuals.Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, engineers, operators, and customers.Demonstrate fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.Exhibit team leadership, problem-solving, technical writing, and documentation skills.Consult with PU management and stakeholders, prioritizing and pacing project activities to achieve objectives within budget and timeframe.Proficient in importing, cleaning, transforming, validating, and modeling data. Create PowerBI Dashboards for real-time data analysis and performance reporting on key KPI’s.Profile
You bring a minimum of 2 years of experience in the metal cutting or related industry within a manufacturing environment. Holding a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or possessing equivalent experience, you have the ability to influence and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Your skills in strategy and change management, combined with strong leadership, independent thinking, and exceptional organizational planning, make you a valuable asset. You excel in analytical and problem-solving tasks and adopt a collaborative and solution-oriented approach when working with stakeholders. Your ability to operate effectively in a global business environment with diverse cultures, coupled with a valid U.S. driver's license and the ability to travel internationally, further qualifies you for this role.More about Sandvik
