We build logic across players and back-end services to measure, control, and optimize playback across our stack.Within the Media Engineering organization, the Media Processing and Packaging program develops the video encoding, packaging, and orchestration systems that power Disney’s video streaming platforms (Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu). Software Engineer I

to join the Core Media Manufacturing team, who will thrive on Disney’s storytelling legacy, embrace unconventional thinking, and be eager to learn, grow, and contribute to The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience.Daily responsibilities include:Contribute to the implementation, integration, deployment, and support of the workflow orchestration systems.Contribute to project planning, requirements discovery, solution design, and identification of task breakdowns.Participate in technical brainstorms and code reviews.Develop a highly functional understanding of Disney Streaming’s VOD workflows, the orchestration system software components, and how those components integrate with other systems.Debug issues involving workflows across multiple systems in QA and production environments.Apply Agile methodology and practices, including participation in regular scrums, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.Regularly communicate and collaborate with the engineering manager, project manager, and other team members regarding the status of projects and support issues.Participate in and help foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and open communication with stakeholders across adjacent teams.Required Qualifications:BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field.Preferred one year of related work experience and/or internship experience.The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $99,900.00 to $133,900.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
