The company’s broad portfolio of products and systems are used by government agencies, hospitals, critical infrastructure facilities, broadcast TV stations, cable head end stations, electronic media campuses, mobile sports production truck companies and in many other commercial and industrial environments throughout the country.The Senior Development Engineer, Loudspeaker Mechanical and Systems, is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of Electro-Voice professional install loudspeaker systems. The development engineer works closely with in-house and third-party engineering organizations and manufacturing sites. The development engineer performs validation in accordance with US, EU and worldwide standards and innovates new technologies, methods, and processes for electro-acoustic systems engineering.Responsibilities:Design and develop Electro-Voice passive and powered loudspeaker products.Deliver product solutions following projects from conception to mass production.Design and simulate loudspeaker structural suspension systems.Perform design validation for structural components and systems.Design products optimized for manufacturing.Design and simulate enclosures, waveguides, and passive crossovers.Assemble prototype loudspeakers, bracketry, and suspensions systems.Manage documentation including 3D files and bills of materials.Evaluate loudspeaker system and component performance and reliability.Identify failure modes and perform root cause analysis.Develop validation plans and tests for speaker systems and components.Verify complete products for conformance to design specifications, operational and safety standards such as IEC 62638, EN54, UL1480. UL1480A, DGUV Rev. 17, ANSI 1.8-2018, ISO 12100:2010(E), CE, UL, Eurocode, EN1991-4.Perform as a lead member in project teams alongside project management, quality, and purchasing.Design intelligent solutions that minimize product cost, then monitor cost throughout project development.Support sample and pre-production builds remotely and on-site.Support projects during the full life cycle.Collaborate with quality and service functions to solve ongoing quality issues.Requirements:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.5 years’ experience in structural mechanical design or loudspeaker systems engineering.Technical computation using MATLAB, Python, Mathcad or similar.Experience working with some of the following: wood box construction, plastics molding, steel forming and aluminum casting.Passion for product development of the highest standard in the audio business.Ability to innovate as part of an industry leading R&D team.Ability to travel up to 25% including international.Ability to be onsite in Burnsville MN with some hybrid flexibility available.Preferred Experience:Knowledge of the latest industry standards and innovations in loudspeaker technology.Interdisciplinary teamwork including project management, quality, purchasing and logistics.3D CAD – SolidWorks is preferred.Multi-physics FEA software.
