Job Overview

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for all contracted Operational Technology (OT) devices and systems on the ICS network. They will oversee a wide variety of monitoring and control systems and all related devices within that envelope. Incumbent will have broad knowledge of all aspects in bringing data from field devices into a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system or Energy Management Control systems (EMCS) including endpoints, industrial gateways, networking fundamentals etc. Additionally, this role will provide escalation support and guidance to team members, ensuring that all systems supporting the customer are functioning as designed. This position will regularly meet with management and customer leadership and will be looked upon as a subject matter expert for various systems.Salary Range: $170K - $180K yearlyWork Model: Onsite/Office-Based

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:Responsible and accountable for all current SCADA/EMCS system installations and assets, upgrades, repairs, changes, maintenance and or troubleshooting activities in support of the contract.Develop, implement and oversee, in coordination with management and the customer, all maintenance activities for the SCADA/EMCS system. This includes but is not limited to tasks, frequencies, impact analysis, spares, test environments, etc.Support the integrity of the System Security Plan, creating Corrective Action Plans for issues identified and all supporting processes.Maintain support accounts in relationship to the contract and SSP for patches, upgrades, troubleshooting and escalation.Develop, finalize and submit all documentation as required to execute SCADA/EMCS work and illustrate full functionality with completion of work and testing.Troubleshoot and diagnose all forms of errors and inconsistencies with endpoint devices and integration into SCADA environment.Troubleshoot and diagnose network communication issues and perform corrections as needed.Verifying accuracy of data and equipment, metering values, alarm points, etc.Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues within various Programmable Logic Controllers and HMI systems as required.Provide other members with guidance and support in the ongoing upkeep of the SCADA/EMCS systems.Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:Master’s degree in a related field and at least 7 years of equivalent related experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 10 years of equivalent related experience or Associate’s degree in a related field and at least 13 years of equivalent related experience or In lieu of a degree, at least 15 years of equivalent related experience.Possess an in depth knowledge of OT systems and controls, including power metering, switchgear controls and automation, Programmable Logic Controllers and HMI systems.Experience with large scale, distributed node SCADA systems.In depth knowledge of various protocols found in Industrial environments (Modbus, DNP, SNMP, Bacnet etc).Demonstrated experience in a Subject Matter Expert role.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain good working relations.Ability to research, analyze, interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely solutions.U.S. Citizen.Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to pass a pre-hire background and drug screen.Ability to team lift up to 50lbs.Reasonable Accommodation
