We are currently searching for an experienced
Project Engineer
to join our team at CPP Wind Engineering Consultants, where we provide dispersion and flow modelling services primarily working with HVAC design engineers on building exhaust systems. We also provide field/commissioning services to reduce energy consumption in buildings with large laboratory-type exhaust systems. This position will primarily focus on using experimental data and experience to assist with the design and implementation of energy efficient exhaust systems able to operate safely under all meteorological conditions. This position offers a unique opportunity to design wind tunnel experiments, analyze the collected data, communicate the results and implications to our clients, and assist with the implementation of your recommendations within their systems.Primary Duties:Coordinates with internal project management and interacts with clients (architects, mechanical engineers, facilities management, etc.) to gather project information.Internal collaboration with wind tunnel model design and model shop to ensure accuracy of project drawings and building models.Organizes test plan for wind tunnel data collection, working with wind tunnel technicians to oversee the quality of data collection.Presents results and recommendations to the client and provides consultation to determine suitable design solutions.Travel to project site (4-6 times a year) to assist with the testing and commissioning of exhaust systems and associated building automation systems.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is preferred, and 5-10 years engineering experience in building controls, energy modeling, industrial hygiene, or HVAC design/commissioning.Advanced consulting skills through regular participation in client interactions.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Effective time management and problem-solving skills.Must be able to work both independently as well as part of a team (up to two days per week of work-from-home time anticipated).Experience in programming in current software development environments (e.g., Python, VBA, Matlab, LabVIEW, etc.).Proficiency in working with architectural and engineering teams, laboratory HVAC systems, various building automation systems, and interpreting mechanical drawings is favorable.Job Type: Full-timePay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per yearWe offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.
