An IT Systems Administrator Manager job is currently available at Belcan in Cincinnati, OH 45242. This is a hybrid role, with an on-site presence of at least two days per week. This is a full-time, direct hire position with full benefits.The IT Systems Administration Manager is responsible for leading a team of IT Systems Administrators providing escalation and operational support across a range of IT infrastructure systems including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, telecommunications, unified communications, and cloud environments. This role requires an experienced manager (3+ years) with a strong technical background, ideally as an L3 technician, in at least one of the core infrastructure domains. While a management-focused position, this role also involves hands-on technical responsibilities and requires a leader ready to mentor and support team members on technical issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DAILY ACTIVITIES:

General Management:

Lead and develop the IT Systems Administration team, conducting performance reviews, handling new employee onboarding, mentoring talent, and overseeing ongoing training. Provide coaching and technical guidance to team members, promoting best practices and fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth.Operational Oversight:

Manage ticket queues and escalations, coordinate issue resolution, and ensure the availability and stability of core infrastructure components.Technical Leadership:

Support team members in troubleshooting complex technical issues, leveraging hands-on expertise in relevant infrastructure areas (e.g., servers, storage, networking).Collaborative Support:

Work closely with Infrastructure Engineering, Security, Enterprise Applications, and Operations (Help Desk) teams to prioritize tasks, manage cross-functional projects, and escalate issues as needed.ITIL/ITSM Process Management:

Execute ITIL-based processes, including Change, Problem, Incident, Major Incident, Service Delivery, and Continuous Service Deployment.Documentation Coordination:

Ensure comprehensive documentation of sysadmin functions, coordinating with Operations to ensure documentation availability for end-users and technicians.Service Monitoring and Reporting:

Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure SLA attainment, proactively addressing issues to optimize team performance.Security and Compliance:

Ensure adherence to corporate security standards and regulatory requirements, particularly in alignment with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization:

Identify opportunities to streamline systems administration processes through automation and tool integration, driving operational efficiency.Adaptability and Change Management:

Display a strong ability to adapt to evolving technologies, processes, and priorities, managing resources effectively in a dynamic environment.Customer Interaction:

Interface with internal and external stakeholders for issue escalation and service delivery.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

Technical Expertise:

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure support, including at least one area (e.g., servers, storage, networking, unified communications, or virtualization) at an L3 technical level.Management Experience:

At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role, with demonstrated success in talent development, team oversight, and goal setting.ITIL Knowledge:

Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM processes and experience applying Change, Problem, Incident, and Service Management practices in a high-availability environment.Communication Skills:

Excellent ability to convey technical information to non-technical users and stakeholders, with demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.Project Management:

Experience with managing or supporting infrastructure projects, task prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration.Documentation Skills:

Ability to create and maintain accurate, detailed system documentation.US Security Clearance Eligibility:

Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain DoD security clearance.Technical Adaptability:

Willingness to perform light physical work as required, including server setup and cabling tasks.

COMPENSATION:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $90,000-$100,000; however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
