You are responsible, work well with a team and communicate well with people of varying backgrounds and experiences. You are eager to learn and grow professionally in your field.What will you be doing?Candidates can expect to work with a variety of stakeholders including land developers, owners, designers, and permitting agencies. The person in this role can make a significant community impact by supporting our clients as they work to create an exciting array of projects.Where will you be working?Our HQ is in downtown Raleigh where this position would be located.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMaintain firm understanding of project phases from kick-off to close-out.Work to accomplish the following tasks as a technical lead:Preliminary Engineering Due DiligenceResearch Federal, State and Local Government Agencies as Required for Land Development Projects.Develop Conceptual Plans Based on Research and Client RequestsGenerate necessary engineering design computations to support the design.Prepare Construction Plans required for the projectPrepare Site, Utility, Grading/Drainage, Stormwater Management, Erosion Control, and Roadway Designs per the Local Authorizing Agency.Compile Project Manual Which Includes Contract Documents and Technical Specifications.Prepare and Obtain Necessary PermitsCoordinate with Other Disciplines as RequiredAssist with the Project Advertisement, Bidding, and ContractingCommunicate with Clients and Other Project Stakeholders, including attending and Participating in Project MeetingsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSB.S. in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program1-4 years of experience as a Professional Engineer (PE) in a consulting engineering environment (preferred)NC Licensed Professional Engineer (or if licensed outside NC, ability to obtain NC license within one year)Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (O365) applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)Knowledge of AutoCAD – Civil 3D strongly preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESStrong technical skills in site/roadway layout, grading, drainage, storm water management, utility, and erosion control design.Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling preferred.Writing and compiling storm water reports and/or narratives.Experience with compiling project manuals.Familiarity with limited construction administration and observation.Ability to communicate effectively to design team and clients.Able to work on multiple projects at one time.EQUAL EMPLOYMENTThe Wooten Company is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
