Role:
Delmock Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to oversee the architecture, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network communications at WSSC Water, a valued long-term client. In this role, the successful candidate will leverage their extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to handle responsibilities in administration, engineering, architecture, monitoring, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, as well as DNS and DHCP appliances. Collaboration with IT team members on technology project implementations will be a key aspect of this position.
The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive technical support and problem resolution, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the networking infrastructure and environment.
Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of network administration functions related to the operation, performance and availability of WSSC LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall, DNS and DHCP solutions.
Designs, deploys, maintains, optimizes, and troubleshoots enterprise-class networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
Plans and executes network changes, network hardware and software upgrades, refreshes, and replacements.
Provides technical and problem-resolution support related to network hardware and software.
Supports the existing infrastructure and aids in designing and deploying data network solutions supporting business and technical initiatives.
Utilizes network monitoring and management tools to evaluate the status of the environment daily, performs capacity planning, network analysis, and optimization.
Develops and maintains comprehensive and timely documentation, including addressing plans, network topology diagrams, rack elevations, data flows, and other technical documentation.
Delivers periodic reports on network metrics, including network uptime statistics, bandwidth consumption, network link utilization, and outages for network links and network equipment.
Works with ISPs and circuit providers to bring up circuits and resolve data communications issues as they arise.
Provides support for cable plant management for data circuits in areas of testing, installations and disconnections.
Collaborates effectively with IT team members on technology project implementations.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
Minimum of 5 years in administration, engineering, architecture, monitoring, and troubleshooting network devices.
Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, DNS, and DHCP.
Experience with the following Technologies:
LAN/WAN Technologies:
Experience with networking concepts.
Networking Devices:
Cisco devices, Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls, Citrix load balancers.
Load Balancing:
Citrix application load balancing and Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB).
Monitoring & Management:
Knowledge of network and system monitoring tools (e.g., SNMP, SolarWinds).
Familiarity with Cisco Meraki wireless solutions.
Network Protocols:
Experience with routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, OSPF.
Understanding of switching technologies (Spanning Tree, EtherChannel, Port Security, 802.1X).
Cisco Expertise:
Proficiency in Cisco NXOS-based routers and switches.
Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
Familiarity with Cisco ISE and its functionalities.
Enterprise Operations:
Experience in enterprise network operations, ensuring efficient and secure networking.
Certifications:
Current Cisco (CCNP, or higher) or CheckPoint (CCSA) Certification.
Preferred/Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with AppResponse, Gigamon, Infoblox DNS and NetMotion VPN.
Clearance:
The ability to successfully pass a background check is needed for this position.
