Sr. Java Software Engineer (Hybrid) - Columbus

SUMMARY:This role is for someone who is an experienced Engineer with a variety of knowledge in best principles and practices. Someone that has knowledge and experience with AWS, GitHub pipelines, as well as being a Java Developer. Duties include mentoring junior developers, driving the development of applications under your purview, and providing leadership with good architectural best practices to achieve the future state for the applications.Job duties and responsibilities:Ability to create rules and best practices around all applications you are assigned.Modifying software to follow leadership goals in improving application architecture.Directing system testing and validation procedures.Directing software programming and documentation development.Consulting with departments or customers on project status and proposals.Working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.Analyzing information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of an existing system.Consulting with engineering staff to evaluate software hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements.Designing and developing software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences.Preparing reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status.Conferring with project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities.Create test plans and document test cases.Design and execute systems to check for issues and bugs using multiple technologies.Maintain a functional testing suite using JavaScript with the Cypress framework for functional area testing and Ruby with the Cucumber framework, and Selenium gem for end-to-end testing.Follows the software development lifecycle.Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.Protects operations by keeping information confidential.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related fields, or equivalent experience required.Previous Experience:5-7 years of Java/Spring (minimum).Proven experience in architectural design best practices.Experience implementing security best practices into modern architectures (OWASP).10 years working with Git.Excellent at writing Shell scripts.5 years of cloud experience, preferably AWS.5 years of Docker (preferred).Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process and methodologies.
