Job SummaryThe Experience Designer (XD) is a skilled professional responsible for the design and delivery of exceptional interaction and visual designs for our customers utilizing a human-centered design methodology. This individual works closely with digital experience design team members, product owners, strategists, and stakeholders to understand business goals and translate those goals into designs that enhance the overall end-user experience. The XD has a strong understanding of the Analytics domain and works in a multidisciplinary environment, in a collaborative fashion, on experience design activities throughout the software development lifecycle, often with numerous design initiatives occurring concurrently.Responsibilities:
Delivers the experience design of interactive user experiences and interfaces across multiple products and platforms.Experienced in data visualization and presentation for data-driven products supporting financial models, data insights, etc.Simplifies and unifies complex information into intuitive interactions, flows, charts, graphs, and other forms of visual representation.Experienced in customer-centered design, generating workflows & user journeys, and creating wireframes and high-fidelity designs.Works directly with developers to turn wireframes and other visualizations into production-ready prototypes based on our established components and patterns in our design language.Performs reviews of developed pages to ensure adherence to standards.Facilitates feedback reviews of prototypes to validate design concepts with end users.Occasionally runs and facilitates workshops with stakeholders and customers.Qualifications:Bachelor of Fine Arts degree or similar required.Skilled practitioner with expertise in the design, production, and presentation of interface designs that support the needs of the customer.Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.Proven ability to effectively communicate abstract concepts to audiences that are not skilled in a UX discipline.Demonstrated experience with human-centered design patterns and methodologies.Demonstrated experience in understanding analytics and presenting complex data, designing dashboards, data visualization, and interactive solutions to assess, analyze, manipulate, and present data in user-friendly formats.Extensive knowledge with Agile software methodologies.Comfort with utilizing one or more recognized Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.) or toolsets (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).Comfort with ambiguity, complexity, and passion for challenges.Detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Working knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Axure, and Adobe CS.Portfolio to show examples of UX design work using Axure RP or Figma.Ability to travel occasionally for workshops and meetings.The ideal candidate would also have:Experience in Insurance, FinTech, or Financial Services, as a User Experience Designer, leading large, enterprise-wide work efforts across a multi-disciplinary team.Basic understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.Requirements:Local to New York City.Availability to be at the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.US Citizen or green card holder - Contract to hire.Strong UX skills, strong communication skills, and experience in enterprise application design.
