Position Summary:

In this role, you will define technical strategy across Sam's Club e-commerce engineering teams and drive product and engineering initiatives by building new products, architecture for the transaction backend service and delivering industry standard performance.

What you'll do:

Design and implement core features in the shopping funnel of Sam’s Club eCommerce backend services.

Influence and collaborate with engineering leaders, product managers, design leads and the business to develop a unified approach to engineering.

Understand complex architecture and add any enhancements to the existing solutions.

Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.

Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.

Experiment with new technologies and features and build quick prototypes.

Lead the discovery phase of small to medium projects to come up with high level design.

Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.

What you'll bring:

Proficient in Reactive Java for developing non-blocking, event-driven applications.

Hands-on experience in SpringBoot, Reactive programming, Javascript, NoSQL DB, Docker, Kubernetes.

Experience with Spring Cloud - Circuit Breakers, Load Balancing, etc.

Experience with public cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, GCP.

Experience in designing, evaluating, and enhancing efficiency, scalability, and stability of distributed systems.

Understanding of commercial business strategy and goals to solve complex problems with high impact.

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Minimum Qualifications:

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:
