DescriptionPosition Summary:The Principal Engineer has the leadership role in a full multi-technology project, managing all areas of expertise. They will develop, implement, and support collaboration services and solutions for consulting clients by utilizing outside resources in different areas of technology. Additionally, they will build a customer-focused relationship with clients to identify business challenges and develop specifications and requirements to arrive at the best solution.Roles and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:Lead and mentor a team for large projects, including Engineering resources, sales team members, and project management.Execute multifaceted and challenging customer projects on time and on budget.Take an active leadership role and communicate needs to Project Managers, ensuring tasks are completed accurately.Take ownership of the Engineering of multi-technology projects, including creating project templates and utilizing appropriate resources.Provide daily updates on all projects, proactively communicating timelines, hours, resources, and concerns.Demonstrate excellent communication skills and take a leadership role in team and customer meetings.Contribute to product selection, research, configuration standards, and educate sales teams on these products and services.Provide support, maintenance, and administration for customer networks.Work in a team atmosphere between regional and virtual practices, maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.Provide time estimates and project scopes for networking-related projects.Maintain current vendor/industry certifications and stay updated on new products and solutions.Follow the Engineering skills matrix to challenge the status quo.Minimum of 1,450 hours billed per fiscal year, prorated based on start date, balanced against professional development and on-the-job training.RequirementsCompetencies:Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility for actions.Adaptability - Ability to fit into a changing environment.Ambition - Demonstrates drive and initiative in seeking advancement or recognition.Decision Making - Selecting an effective course of action while controlling resources and expenditures.Detail Oriented - Ability to pay meticulous attention to details.Ethical - Guided by the company’s accepted principles of moral conduct.Organized - Structured and methodical working skills.Persistence - Continue a course of action in the face of adversity.Technical Aptitude - Understanding of specialized knowledge topics.Required Experience:8+ years in a technical-related field.Preferred Experience:10+ years in a technical-related field.8+ years’ experience working as a consultant.Required Skills, Education and/or Certifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certifications.CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, ACMP, ACCP, ACCX, ACEAP or equivalent level certifications.Experience designing and architecting network-based solutions.Installing and supporting Cisco or HP/Aruba network switching and routing products.IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS Experience/Best Practices.Routing Protocols—OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, L2/L3 Architecture, Design Multicast, QoS.Preferred Skills, Education and/or Certifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certifications.At least two or more Associate level certifications.CCNA, ACMA, ACCA, CMNA or equivalent level certifications.Experience with Cisco Nexus technologies, Cisco based ISR-based VPN solutions, Data Center/Core design, and Software Defined Networking.Familiarity with network security appliances, additional core technologies, and deployment of Citrix NetScaler ADC/SDWAN.Equal Opportunity Employer - Including Disabled and Veterans#HBS
