Job Summary
This technical position which sits inside the Global SAP Center of Excellence under the current SAP BASIS Manager is responsible for managing the health of our Global SAP Architecture consisting of a number of Key Systems including on premise SAP systems (HCM and ERP), a cloud based S4Hana ERP system and a SAP SuccessFactors System. This position which reports into the SAP BASIS Manager, will also work with other IT Staff to ensure successful SAP connections to various business connectors and applications. This hands-on role will ensure that all projects and system support areas are implemented and maintained to quality by adopting best practice configuration and technology. This technical role will be involved with analysis and design, system configuration, integration, testing, maintenance and support for the delivery of projects and minor/major releases of SAP. The successful candidate will work closely with SAP technical analysts and business owners to understand the business requirements and deliver solutions that support the ongoing Global IT and business strategy.
The ideal candidate would be located within commutable distance to our facilities located in either Richmond, IN or Indianapolis, IN.
What you will do
Provides in-depth expertise in technical and operational support of multiple components of SAP systems and in integration with OS, DB, server, network layers, and interfaces with third-party products.
As a senior technical SAP Basis professional, partners and provides coaching for our India based hybrid SAP Basis Administration team. Maintenance of HANA Database via Studio and HANA Cockpit, troubleshooting of performance issues by checking log files.
Coordination with SAP RISE team for system patching and maintenance activities
Supports integration of SAP Systems with other business systems like SuccessFactors, Datasphere, ARIBA, SAP IBP, SAP GTS, SAP TM & MES systems
Administration of SAP BTP platform including enablement of services and constant monitoring of service utilization
Configures Solution Manager, Cloud ALM, CCMS and other tools including SAP EarlyWatch Alerts
Defines, creates, reviews, updates, and maintains standard-operational-procedure documentation relating to SAP application support and processes.
Performs SAP software application installation, configuration, integration, upgrade, enhancement-pack deployment, support pack and kernel patch updates
Collaborates with the business departments in analyzing and defining requirements
Manages projects and ensure deadlines are met
Plans regular reviews of system sizing (capacity planning), disk / storage / server layout
Completes performance monitoring of the SAP system landscape including work process monitoring, job terminations & system dumps.
Experience with SAP cloud platform (SCP) Integration, Cloud Connector, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
Install, configure, manage and administration of SQL Server databases
Configure and manage SAP transport management system including deployment of transports
Administration of SSL certificates across the landscape
Administration of BODS, DB creation, Access management, integrate the repositories and job management
Administration of Fiori applications, experience with Activation of ODATA services, cache administration and Fiori based Application Deployment
Experience in Performing SAP client copy: export and import as required
Experience with SOX and ITIL process
Strong technical knowledge in backup and recovery strategies, system refreshes, high availability and disaster recovery scenarios
Experience in troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis
Operational Exposure and On-call Experience
Well organized, willing to learn and own the topics and share the knowledge with the team
Collaborates with other IT teams on SSO implementation
Demonstrates high level of communication skills (verbal and written)
Mentors, coaches and supports other members of IT team to improve technical abilities.
Keeps well-informed of the latest SAP technologies, and enhancements. Researches and implements enhancements and new technologies as required.
Identifies process improvement opportunities in the SAP Basis area
Performs other duties as assigned
What you will bring
Bachelor’s degree in a technical related field
Minimum 8 years’ hands on SAP Basis experience with experience managing the work of and coaching SAP Basis Administrators
Minimum 4 years’ experience in operational support of ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA
Minimum 3 years’ hands on experience with supporting integrations with complex systems
Minimum 3 years’ hands on experience with supporting HANA DB as admin
Expert knowledge on SAP technical system administration trends and industry best practices
Previous experience with working on SAP RISE platforms would be preferred.
Previous experience on working with SAP BTP, SAP Cloud ALM and SAP Cloud Connectors would be preferred. Candidates with SAP Certifications on SAP Netweaver or S/4HANA & HANA DB Administration would be preferred.
Customer service mindset - seeking constantly to understand from the customer's point of view, the problems being faced and the solutions that may work best
Experience implementing, designing and enforcing project management methodology and controls
Proven track record using analytical skills to evaluate system performance, system health checks, and implementation of tuning improvements
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English required
