This role is primarily on-site, allowing for the full collaboration with our customer and team. We are open to discussing some consideration for remote work as part of our employment package.KBR is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner that is looking for an experienced and motivated Cloud support engineer that enjoys solving problems, working with customers, and has a strong technical background. As an AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for delivering new AWS projects for our customers. The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented self-starter with independent problem-solving skills, who exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.This person will be integrated into a development team to build new cloud architecture designs, resulting in robust, reliable, and secure cloud platform solutions. They will play an integral part in advancing the Cloud eco-system and culture of technical excellence. As part of the team, you will be expected to assist with cloud architecture and implementation efforts, interface with customers, and solve problems for running current and proposed processes on cloud infrastructure.Responsibilities
Architect, design, develop, and implement cost efficient AWS Cloud solutionsParticipate in delivery of new service offerings, working closely with development team to deliver low latency, high performance applicationsAssist in the creation of blueprints for future Cloud topologies (AWS services and interfaces) that minimize costs while maximizing performance, reliability, and manageabilityUse tools to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilitiesInterpret and provide solutions on complex technologies/architecturesCreate automated approaches and scripts for administration tasks where possible and appropriateDevelop, support, and document automated build and configuration management processesGuide and participate in the implementation and coding of the new solutionsTrain and mentor junior engineersDeploy, configure, and manage scaled compute resources, services, platforms, frameworks, and applications in the cloudRequired Education/Certification/Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field6 + years of experience as a Cloud Software Engineer, Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer, or equivalent cloud experience4+ years of DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, containers, and automation4+ years of experience implementing and administering AWS services including EC2, Lambda, ELB, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation, etc.Strong understanding of AWS Security and Network controlsExperience with Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or other IaC toolExperience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or other configuration management toolExperience with one or more scripting languages like Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShellGeneral understanding of compliance around FedRAMPStrong technical documentation skillsProven ability to work across teamsExcellent verbal and written communication and influencing skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentThe ability to work in a fast-paced team environmentStrong aptitude to learn and passion for problem solvingPreferred Education/Certification/Experience
