Transportation Project Engineer
to join our growing team in the
Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX
area. They will be mentored and trained to design projects, interact with the biggest transportation clients in Texas, and be exposed to various aspects of the work.Responsibilities of this role include:Serving as a Design Task LeadCoordination with Design TeamOverall Plan ProductionParticipating in Project & Client MeetingsTechnical experience should include:Geometric Design of Roadways & InterchangesExperience using Microstation & Open Roads DesignerKnowledge of Modeling using Open Roads/Geopak/InroadsKnowledge of Drainage DesignExperience with Construction Sequencing and Traffic Control PlansExperience with Signing and Pavement Marking PlansLocating and Identifying Utility ConflictsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited programTwo (2) to Five (5) years of relevant experiencePrevious experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on TxDOT transportation projectsPractical working knowledge of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Green Book, the Roadside Design Guide, the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), and the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD) as well as TxDOT Design manuals and processesExperience with Microstation, Geopak or InRoads and/or other roadway design softwareLicensed as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in the State of Texas, or the ability to obtain within 6 monthsStrong working knowledge of MS OfficePreferred Skills:Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas, or will have the ability to obtain reciprocity within three months of hireGrow With UsGarver offers its employees programs such as company-paid professional memberships, company support for industry licenses and continuing education opportunities that foster a progressive atmosphere.
