$148,600.00 - $162,100.00*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC OfficesPosition SummaryDevelops, coordinates and facilitates strategies to improve overall performance in cash collections, accounts receivable and collection rates. Manages revenue cycle, compliance, and billing staff and overall program. Serves as a specialist in the reimbursement of physician charges and oversees the revenue compliance function for the department.Job ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes accounts receivable and facilitates expeditious account resolution. Identifies trends in payments and denials. Develops action plans for department and physicians.Coordinates, interprets and monitors revenue cycle of the department. Reviews inpatient and outpatient charge documents and prepares statistical analysis.Develops targets for revenue, write-offs, collections referrals and action plan to meet goals. Ensures all adjustments, write-offs, and financial class changes are performed correctly and in accordance with institutional and contractual policy.Directs department's research billing operations, including overall responsibility for the accurate execution of all research billing policies and procedures.Directs special projects including long-range plans, surveys, analyses and proposals. Assist in evaluating appropriate computer applications for data collection. Works monthly claim denial and aged trial balance report, conferring on trends or issues.Partner with key university departments to analyze data for the enhancement of revenue opportunities including daily margin evaluation, profitability variation correlation.Prepare department budget estimate collections and billing costs. Analyzes payment trends and develops and reviews statistical reports with faculty. Spearheads monthly meetings with physicians.Develops and evaluates plans and procedures to ensure the most effective operations of the department's billing processes relative to the revenue cycle.Works with third party payers to resolve unpaid receivables. Provides technical expertise in the areas of requirement for reimbursements; serves as liaison between third party payers, physicians, staff support and billing staff.Manages insurance credentialing process for departmental providers.Oversees associated WQ management via the electronic medical record system.Manages vendor relationships with Weill Cornell Medicine.Manages revenue cycle, billing, and compliance staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and day to day activities and scope of work.Provides direction to and training of staff on functional specific tasks, applications, concepts, policies and/or procedures.EducationBachelor's DegreeExperienceBachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience required.General knowledge of billing compliance. General knowledge of third party insurance billing policies and procedures and previous billing experience.
