Sr. Data Analyst

The Sr. Data Analyst will be a critical member of the Data Insights and the larger Analytics team. You will use a combination of data analysis and data science techniques to identify meaning and action for CorVel and our customers. This role is a highly visible position, working across multiple business lines, executive leadership, along with our largest and most strategic customers to support tactical and deliberate decisions.This position will work either fully remote, or hybrid, depending on location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides strategic and tactical support to the organization by extracting, analyzing and interpreting data to provide creative solutions for our strategic customers.Supports end-to-end analysis development, management and delivery.Provides innovative solutions and automation to help improve our accuracy and efficiency.Present data analysis results and trends with the ability to build compelling data stories and visualizations.Develops and implements data collection and modeling systems, along with other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.Develops new data and predictive models and provides validation of existing and proposed models.Interfaces between various business and technical teams to understand context and business value in data and easily communicates complex ideas across multiple platforms, including CorVel’s customers.Works closely with internal customers to build relationships, continuously gaining a deeper understanding of the business, relevant data and processes to build analytic solutions to meet business needs.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Intermediate to advanced proficiency in one or more of programming languages (Python or R) and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker.Ability to write and read complex SQL Statements including; Queries, Stored Procedures, Table Functions, etc.Data modeling, query development and advanced analysis techniques using Python, R, SQL and ETL frameworks.Experience with statistical data analysis and methods.Knowledge of various supervised and unsupervised machine-learning techniques.Ability to slice and dice data to provide meaningful insights.Experience gathering requirements, turning them into technical requirements, and producing actionable insights for internal and external customers.Creative thinking and taking initiative to come up with innovative solutions and insights.Ability to work independently.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Master’s degree is highly preferred, ideally in a quantitative or STEM field (Data Science, Information Systems, Economics, Mathematics or any related field).Minimum of 3 years of data analysis and BI experience.
PAY RANGE:CorVel uses a market-based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.Pay Range: $37,253 – $108,911.
