Japanese electrical manufacturer seeks an Application Engineer in Novi, MI.
Product: automatic test equipment, data recording equipment, electronic measuring instruments, and field measuring instruments.
As Application Engineer, you will:use your technical expertise to support top engineering teams throughout the Americas. The Application Engineer works with sales and marketing as well as engineering to propose technical solutions to our customers. This position will expose you to the latest technologies in automotive testing, electrification, and power electronics. Customers will rely on your expertise to test next-generation products using the company's equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise to customers during the sales process to accurately assess customer needs and determine the appropriate solutions.Collaborate with sales and management to create and implement product support plans to assist in revenue growth for the territories and product families you support.Create and deliver presentations, application notes, white papers, and product demonstrations to promote the company’s key product capabilities and competitive differentiation.Identify, evaluate, and recommend product improvements consistent with the company’s product line.Provide product training to internal sales associates, sales representatives, distributors, and users.Investigate competitors and understand how to sell against them with our unique values.
Qualifications:1 - 5 years of experience in electronics design, applications, or test and measurement field.Proficient with test and measurement instruments such as data acquisition equipment, power analysers, battery testers, impedance analysers, and LCR meters.Able to travel on short notice.Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar technical field.Experience in ETAS, AVL, dSPACE, Horiba, and other MBD tools is highly valued.Ability to participate in occasional overseas conference calls.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:Ability to develop strong relationships with customers and internal teammates.Effective presentation skills in large and small settings.Strong written communication skills. Able to clearly and convincingly express ideas.Ability to perform under pressure and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Able to collaborate and coordinate effectively with extended team members.Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.
