Overview:
The Quality Director of Sharp Manufacturing Company of America (SMCA), the manufacturing division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, is responsible to plan, direct and coordinate the Companys quality assurance systems and activities, including, but not limited to ISO 9001, parts/product quality, market quality issues and service parts activities. The position is an in-office role and based in Memphis, TN.Responsibilities:Oversee the quality team, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure effective execution of all quality activities.Develop and conduct training for new employees regarding companys quality control system (ISO / Sharp Standards).Develop and conduct all levels of management training for quality control, line patrol auditing, 6s and product safety compliance/auditing (UL & DHHS).Develop and maintain product safety/compliance audit check list and conduct internal audits for UL, CSA and DHHS. Coordinate factory inspections for the DHH.Ensure SMCAs product compliance with all Company and regulatory agencies (DHHS/CDRH).Compile and submit DHHS regulatory compliance reports for Microwave Ovens and other manufactured products.Handle oral and written correspondence with customers regarding factory quality, market quality, product liability and field service issues.Conduct periodic OEM quality meetings.Propose, negotiate and review business contracts regarding quality systems and service parts supply.Oversight for monthly quality reporting as well as monthly quality management meetings.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and 12 years related experience or equivalent required.Manufacturing experience required.Strong supervisory, interpersonal, analytical and leadership skills required.Possess general business knowledge and understanding of current business practices and trends.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels across the organization.Strong ability to educate, influence, and inspire compliance at all levels of management.Proficient in Microsoft Office, prefer SAP experience.Physical Demands: Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards in close proximity to others. Must have the ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages, and other items. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
