Position Summary:

The Community Engagement and Development Associate at The Healing Place of New Hanover County (THPNC) will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission by establishing and nurturing relationships within the community. This position focuses on raising awareness of THPNC's services, building strategic partnerships, supporting fundraising efforts, and engaging various stakeholders to enhance recovery-focused assistance for underserved populations in Southeastern North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:Community Outreach Strategy:

Collaborate closely with the Director of Development to implement a comprehensive outreach strategy that increases awareness of THPNC's programs and services.Relationship Building:

Cultivate and maintain relationships with community organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to support THPNC's mission.Fundraising Support:

Assist in identifying funding opportunities, supporting grant applications, and coordinating fundraising campaigns and events.Event Coordination:

Help organize community events and outreach activities to promote THPNC's mission and enhance visibility.Educational Outreach:

Conduct presentations and sessions to educate the community about THPNC's services, substance use disorder, and the importance of community support.Referral Maintenance:

Develop and manage a referral system to connect individuals with appropriate services and resources.Data Tracking and Reporting:

Track and analyze outreach efforts, maintain records of community contacts, and prepare reports to assess the effectiveness of initiatives and inform strategy adjustments.Communication:

Utilize various channels, including social media, email newsletters, press releases, and printed materials, to disseminate information and engage the community.Community Liaison:

Serve as a liaison between THPNC and community members, responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and providing information about available resources.Market Awareness:

Stay informed about local trends and initiatives related to substance use disorder, mental health, and social services to enhance outreach strategies.Collaboration:

Work with internal teams to integrate community feedback into program development and improvement efforts.Qualifications:

Knowledge of substance use disorder, mental health, and recovery support services.Proven experience in fundraising and grant writing, with a strong understanding of community outreach strategies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.Commitment to the mission and values of THPNC.
