Position Summary :We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage general accounting operations by verifying financial transactions and ensuring accuracy in reporting. The role involves overseeing month-end close procedures, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing financial statements. As a Senior Accountant, you will collaborate closely with the accounting team, providing leadership and ensuring adherence to financial principles.
Key Responsibilities :Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.Prepare and present accurate accounting reports.Analyze financial information to summarize financial status and provide forecasts.Identify errors and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost management.Provide technical support and advice to the Management Accountant.Review and enhance accounting systems and procedures.Supervise accounting assistants and bookkeepers.Participate in setting financial standards and assist with the forecast process.Assist in preparing financial statements and budgets in accordance with schedules.Support tax audits and return preparations.Lead internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.Manage month-end and year-end close processes.Develop and implement business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).Collaborate with the Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to enhance financial procedures.Qualifications :
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.Strong familiarity with financial accounting statements.Experience in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.Hands-on experience with accounting software such as FreshBooks or QuickBooks.Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Vlookups and pivot tables.BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) is preferred.
