Job Description:
In MACOM's MMICBusiness Unit we design MMICs and IMAs for aerospace & defense, cellular, andother wireless applications.We are looking for an Analog/Digitalengineer with experience designing & analyzing circuits, power supplies,support PCBs, and test systems for RF & Millimeter Wave multi-chipmodules.You will:
Beresponsible for the design, analysis, layout, test, and release ofprinted circuit boards embedded in RF/MMW IMAs.Designof circuits for DC filtering, voltage conversion, and power conditioningfor MMICs.Designboth analog and embedded digital circuits for control of MMICs.Creatingschematic circuit simulations and EM simulations where appropriate.Analyzeanalog and digital circuits using tools such as LTspice, Matlab, TINA,QUCS, Multisim, Python, ICAP/4 SPICE, Scilab, Excel, etc.Generatinglayouts and assembly drawings.Beresponsible for all design activities related to product developmentactivities from kickoff through engineering evaluations.Workwith our MMIC design, electromagnetic design, mechanical design, assembly,and test teams to develop new products as well as production methods.Initiate prototypebuilds and manage product characterization.You will designevaluation boards and characterization fixtures, then direct orperform measurements.Generatingdesign reports, progress reports, test reports, datasheets and bill ofmaterials.Organizingdesign reviews.Cooperatingwith Project Manager in order to maintain an up-to-date project plan andschedule.Workwith our Product Engineering group to transfer the product to production.Keepingup to date with latest technologies (semiconductor, assembly, packaging,tools).Maintaining passion for the latest in circuitboard technologies and electronics in general.Customersupport (sampling and application notes).Qualifications:
B.S.in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, M.S. preferred.Bonafide electronics and PCB enthusiast.Enthusiasm for radiation hardened electronics is a huge plus.Fluencywith SPICE simulation tools.Fluencywith several programming and/or hardware description languages.Experiencedesigning both the hardware and software or firmware with embedded digitaldesign toolchains for microcontrollers and FPGA's (such as Atmel, Xilinx).Familiaritywith RF/MMW IMA design techniques.Familiaritywith RF simulation tools such as MWO or ADS (ADS preferred).Familiaritywith EM simulation tools (such as HFSS).Familiaritywith PCB layout tools such as Altium, PADS, or KiCADFamiliaritywith RF measurement techniques for small-signal and large-signalcharacterization of amplifiers: bench calibration, S-parameters, 1-toneand 2-tone power sweep measurements, pulsed measurements.Excellentcommunication, organization and documentation skills.Strong Excel,Word, and PowerPoint skillsStronginterpersonal skills and ability to build long lasting partnerships.Abilityto work in fast pace environment.Willingness totravel occasionally.Fluentin spoken and written English.Due to ITAR regulations, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
