Manager Tax OperationsLocation - NYC 1211 6th Ave.Hybrid - 3 Days In Office

The candidate will report to the Director of Tax Technology and Operations. Ideal candidatemust be willing to assist on a wide range of tasks critical to the effective operation of the NewsCorporation Tax organization and offer hands on support in completing key job duties includingfederal and state and local tax compliance, tax forecasting, tax planning and research, as wellas tax accounting and controversy. Candidate must have a broad range of experience anddemonstrate excellent analytical skills, be detail oriented and organized. The role requires astrong technical background in both Federal and state and local income taxes.

Key Responsibilities•Assists in federal and SALT income tax compliance processes, providing review as wellas guidance to co-sourcing staff•Reviews Global Tax Provision workpapers and maintains documentation for Auditors•Assists in managing the company's effective tax rate and reserves•Reviews tax packages and state apportionment workpapers for tax compliance and reporting•Takes a leadership role in handling Federal and SALT audit examinations and preparation of IDR responses•Identifies, assesses and resolves technical tax issues of moderate complexity•Analyzes, tracks and models impact of Federal/SALT legislative proposals•Becomes the "go-to person" for Tax Data (Federal and State)•Assists with key tax projects including process improvements, technology, planning andmodeling•Develops a deep understanding of the business and related tax issues by collaboratingwith business unit leaders

Skills & Requirements•Bachelors Degree in Accounting required, advanced degree preferred•5+ years of experience with a blend of public accounting and corporate tax experience, Big 4 public accounting experience preferred•CPA certification•Thorough understanding of federal as well as state and local tax•Broad understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting rules and pronouncements•Preparation and review experience with U.S. federal and state income tax return compliance, tax forecasting and budgeting•Exposure to Federal and state tax audits•Solid technical tax research experience•Proven ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment while dealing with competing priorities•Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills•Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and thetimely completion of duties•Proficient with Microsoft Office applications•Knowledge of tax compliance and provision software (Corptax, ONESOURCE, etc.)•Familiarity and/or aptitude for understanding how to use current technologies such as Alteryx, PowerQuery, or advanced Excel formulas

Pay Range: 100000 - 145000
